Module Practical Research application - Essay Example evidence that has demonstrated that learning can be significantly enhanced by using the appropriate technology, but the rapidly evolving and developing technologies in some cases leave the teachers with the feeling of unpreparedness regarding how they are used in the inclusive classrooms. Hooper and Rieber (1995) acknowledge that teaching is a demanding job and consider the different way that technology has not been able to have a considerable effect on education in the past while going further to outline the conditions needed for technology to be utilized efficiently in the future. Based on their work, Hooper and Rieber (1995) suggest that the idea and products are supposed to be integrated and the teachers must endeavor to familiarize and utilize the technology through integrating, reorienting and evolving its stages in order to use it effectively. They further state that the teachers who develop ways of integrating technology have a chance to re-conceptualize the part they play in the classroom and through guidance from research findings associated with cognitive psychology and other associated areas, teachers may develop an environment where the students can engage aggressively in perceptive partnerships with the available technology. According to Hansen (2008), developmental concerns are among the challenges that influence the use of technology especially with young learners, regardless of this; some critical aspects of literacy have been enhanced in the cases where technology is available. Hansen’s study was intended to measure when and what forms of technology were incorporated into literacy teaching and learning meant for students in the second grade through conducting interviews as well as observations. The results of the research demonstrated that the curriculum remained consequent to intervention and technology was utilized in both literary learning and teaching almost forty percent of the entire time. With this increase in the use of technology, the

Euro RSCG Worldwide Named Largest Global Advertising Agency Essay

Euro RSCG Worldwide Named Largest Global Advertising Agency - Essay Example One of the main objectives, it seems, of advertisers is to create a positive brand image by making one product stand out from other competing products. In local markets, buyers are going to have their own experience-based perceptions about a particular brand. For example, if many owners in a local European market have had poor experiences with quality when buying a Volvo, it is likely that the brand will not sell well in this market. Senior level managers, from the professional level, must understand whether or not these negative (or sometimes positive) perceptions exist and work to undo this damage using clever advertising tactics. Essentially, the senior level adman/adwoman must know their market environments and be ready with advertising tactics which will give the best image to the particular product brand. This is especially true when advertising globally because each region will have different feelings about products, due to the fact that brand reputation and consumer perceptio ns will determine the ability to sell products and remain profitable. Another professional trait is to understand the financial aspects of the advertising objectives so as to measure, successfully, whether a particular advertising campaign is meeting with success or failure. At the highest levels of an advertising organisation, there is going to be the need to understand whether or not to allow higher budgets for advertising or whether to cut in certain areas in order to remain profitable. One publication identifies that expenditures in advertising need to be routinely considered to ensure that monies are not being wasted on fruitless and ineffective advertising for products (slideshare.net, 2008). This would mean having a strong understanding of how to comprehend different sales reports and balance sheets (from an accounting perspective), in order to provide the best budget for the particular brand or products. Once again, because there

Quantitative Methods and Analysis Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words - 2

Quantitative Methods and Analysis - Essay Example Hence it is important to select optimal level of sample size. The sample size depends on some variables or parameters which should be considered by the researchers. These four parameters are: the level of statistical power, p level, variability associated with treatment, and error variability (DMS, 2006). The first sample size calculator selected is available on the website of Raosoft (2004). This calculator calculate sample size on the basis of margin of error or confidence interval, confidence level, population size, and response distribution. For example with 10% margin of error or confidence interval, 95% confidence level, 2000 population size, and 50% response distribution the sample size according to this calculator is minimum 96 subjects. The second sample size calculator selected is available on the website of Macorr Research Solutions. This calculator calculate sample size on the basis of confidence level, confidence interval, and population. For example, if the confidence level is 95%, confidence interval is 10%, and population size is 2000 the sample size according to this calculator is 92

Regulatory Genes Lab Report Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Regulatory Genes - Lab Report Example For the second experiment, the mutant and wild type cDNA was constructed. The cDNAs and GST genes were inserted into an expression vector. This stage was carried out to synthesize fusion proteins of LHX3a, LHX3bY116C, LHX3aY111C and LHX3b all fused to GST. Glutathione S-transferase (GST) is known to be a protein which aids in the purification and isolation of proteins of interest. The controls were set up by isolating the GST proteins only. The fusion proteins were later separated with the use of electrophoresis and the proteins were used as a substrate for the binding assay. Purified radio-labeled Pit-1 and NIL were later added to the gel that had the mutant and wild type fusion proteins. In this case, if there were binding sites(No mutation effect), the Pit-1 and NIL proteins could bind to the proteins(LHX3).The presence of the bound Pit-1 and NIL were visualized with fluorography. The binding of Pit-1 and NIL were then quantified by scintillation counting (electrophoresis gel band intensity measurement). The first experiment aimed at determining if mutations in the LXH3 gene can interfere with LHX3a and LHX3b’s ability to binding to DNA promoters and reporter genes. As indicated in figure 1, both mutation types affected the activation of alpha GSU gene (red bars). The truncated mutations with no DNA binding domain were not able to activate the reporter gene, while on the other hand, point mutations with altered amino acid in the LHX3 protein interaction domain, had reduced activation.

Maths investigation Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Maths investigation - Essay Example 1/3*1/3=1/9. Thus the number of sides is increased by 4 times i.e. 4*12=48. Length of the side is decreased by 3 times. The perimeter is calculated directly as number of sides in this stage multiplied by the length of the side in the same stage i.e.48*1/9. Now each side in the previous stage gives rise to one equilateral triangle in this stage with side 1/3 of the side in the previous stage i.e.1/9. Therefore the number of new triangles added in this stage is equal to the number of sides in the previous stage i.e. 12. Therefore the area in this stage is calculated as the area in the previous stage plus the sum of the areas of the newly developed triangles. In the above graph the stage number is taken on x-axis and the no. of sides are taken on y-axis. It shows that the no. of sides increases with the stage number. As n-> Nn ->, since in the limiting situation the fractal does not have an edge but is bound by a smooth curve. In general for any n>0 , Nn = 3*4n = N0*4n the graph shows that the length of side decreases with the stage no. and finally converges to 0. i.e. the limiting fractal will not have any edges but will be bound by a smooth curve. In general In = 1/3n The graph shows that the perimeter increases with the stage no. but it cannot tend to infinity as the area is bounded by 0.7 as can be seen from the subsequent graph. in general Pn = Nn*In Q7 part 2) The graph shows that area increases with stage number but it does not exceed 0.7 as the curve is tangential to the line y=0.7. in fact as n-> the area tends to 0.7. In general An = A0(1+3(k=0 to k=n-1, j=1 to j=n-1[4k*1/32*j])) = A0(1 + 3(40*1/32 + 41*1/34 + 42*1/36 +..+

Discuss to what extent the existence of corporate and personal taxes Essay - 1

Discuss to what extent the existence of corporate and personal taxes could affect companies' dividend policy and capital structure decisions - Essay Example Dividends could be said to be the reward for the shareholders' participation in contributions towards the corpus of company and its management. The dividend policy plays a crucial role in the financial operations of corporate in the UK because it is closely dependent on current profits and also future profitability of the entity. As per law, Companies could distribute dividends, only out of earnings or reserves of the Company, since otherwise; it would amount to paying back its own capital to the shareholders. Thus, a Company could only distribute dividends out of its accumulated profits and free reserves available for such distribution: It may choose not to pay any dividend and may retain its earnings for future plans, the Company's decision not to pay dividends may stem from the need for maintaining reserves for market expansions, need to buy back shares at later date, building funds for heavy investments projects, programmes, etc. It may decide to pay minimum dividends out of its retained earnings, keeping the long term prospects of the Company in view, with the optimistic view that in future years, it would be able to maintain or increase, the level of profitability, and thus its rate of dividend. This is because a falling rate of dividend may discourage potential investors and they may become circumspect about investing in such companies. This would have detrimental consequences on the company's market image. The Company's operations are such that it is in a strong position to regularly pay high rates of dividends, even quarterly basis, in terms of a strong market position and market realisations. Moreover, because of reputation and goodwill gained by the Company, it is also able to attract outside investors for future growth plans and expansion, and it need not depend entirely on the present earnings and Capital reserves at its disposal. It would not be wrong to say that dividend policies, besides the tax element, is also dependent upon available of consistent profits and dividend yielding assets Role of Taxation in determination of dividend policies: Taxation plays an important role in the determination of dividends because of the following reasons: Incidence of double taxation, especially in developed countries. Capital gains being subject to a lower rate of taxation than
